FROSO ZOO FAMILY PARK
One of Sweden’s largest zoological gardens with exotic animals

Zoo-Garden: At present there are about 700 animals in the park’s zoo-garden, including: Siberian tiger, lion, moose, hyena, giraffe, zebra, polar fox, elandantilope, Asian black bear, polar wolf, camel, lynx, dingo, quanaco, monkey, yak, alpaca, different kinds of pheasants, flamingo, peacock and other birds, both exotic and Swedish.

Tropichouse: 1,600 square metres on two floors connected by an elevator, the tropichouse was opened by the King and Queen of Sweden in June 1986 and houses crocodile, the worlds smallest monkeys, the dwarf marmoset, gibbons etc. There are also different kinds of lizards, tarantulas, scorpions, pirayafishes and so on.

The interior is decorated with a number of paintings by Froso Zoo’s own artist. There are also genuine relics from bygone ages, such as dinosaurs and mammoths from the time of Earth’s creation, which are 75 million years old.

Museum: The museum is built so that the animals live in their natural environment. It contains 720 animals from the south of Sweden to Svalbard in the north of Norway. Among many other animals there are polar bear, moose, brown bear, lynx and wolf. There is also the extinct kiwi bird dated 1842.

Blue Whale Skeleton: There are not only wild animals but also domestic animals in the zoo. The zoo also has a blue whale skeleton from 1779. By showing this skeleton, we hope to provide visitors with a perspective on human development and vital conditions throughout history.

Pleasure for the whole family: Froso Zoo was established on Froson, Jamtland, in 1960. It is a private zoo owned by the family Netterstrom. Over the years the establishment has been continuously developed. To date, there are about 100 different activities, including a zoo-garden, tropichouse, biological museum, circus, amusement park, restaurant, snack-bar, kiosks and zooshop.

We are open for different projects.
